Bob BirdSall

Examination Manager

Bob Birdsall is a highly experienced Examinations Manager with a career spanning over a decade in structures examinations and asset management. Beginning his career in 2011 with Carillion, he played a key role in conducting structure examinations as an STE4 for the East London Line Route on behalf of London Overground. In addition to his examination duties, he took on responsibilities as a Safe System of Work Planner (SSOWP) and Examinations Planner, ensuring the safe and efficient execution of examinations.Expanding his expertise, Bob transitioned into the highways sector, working as a structures inspector for Ringway Jacobs on behalf of Essex County Council. His broad experience in both rail and highways has given him a deep understanding of structural integrity assessments across different environments.Now serving as the Examinations Manager for Polestar group's Asset Inspect Department, Bob oversees the planning and execution of examinations across multiple projects. He is dedicated to advancing industry standards through collaborative mentoring and training, working closely with examiners, engineers, and software developers to enhance examination techniques, streamline processes, and integrate innovative technology into the field.
